Longrove Surgery Patient Survey

BSc MBChB - Full Time Partner
Born in Glasgow Dr Livingston went to St Andrews University gaining a BSc in Medical Science(1979). He then transferred to Manchester University where he graduated with an MBChB medical qualification (1982).
He became a partner in a practice in Borehamwood in 1986 where he remained until joining Longrove as a partner in 1995. He is a Medical Adviser to a well known West-End firm of solicitors and an Austrian Bank.
At Longrove he holds responsibility for financial management of the practice and has a strong interest in the computing side of the practice.
He is married with 2 sons - neither of whom are medically inclined. He enjoys reading, collecting colourful glass and tinkering about with computers - if they are not broken when he starts, they will most probably be when he finishes! His ambition is to write a novel.
BSc MBBS DRCOG MRCGP DFFP Dip Derm - Full Time Partner
Dr Amos qualified in 2003 at Guys, Kings and St Thomas’ Medical School (Kings College, London).
She completed three years of GP Vocational training at the Whittington Hospital and an Archway GP practice. She has worked as a GP in London since and joined Longrove in April 2010.
She has extra qualifications in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Family Planning and has completed the Cardiff University Diploma of Practical Dermatology. She is practice lead in Palliative care and commissioning and teaches medical students.
She is the practice lead in palliative are, sexual health and is a GP Trainer. She has been a member of the LMC since 2014.
In her spare time she enjoys travel, reading and the theatre.
MBChB (Hons), BSc, MRCP, DGM - Part-time Partner
Dr Adleman qualified in 2000 at Leeds University School of Medicine. She worked in hospital medicine for 4 years before joining General Practice. She has worked as a GP in Barnet since 2005 and joined Longrove in March 2013.
She has extra qualifications in General Adult Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Dementia.
She is married with two small children and enjoys gardening and reading.
MBBCh - Part-time Partner
Dr Wetterhahn trained in South Africa, qualifying in 2002. She has been living in the UK since then and completed her General Practice qualifications through Barnet Hospital.
She completed diplomas in child health and family planning.
She has been working locally for the past few years until joining Longrove in 2014.
Dr Wetterhahn is married to a lawyer and has 3 children who call her mummy not mommy!
MBBS, BSc, MRCP, DRCOG, DFFP, DFRSH - Part-time worker
Dr Ananda qualified from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2004. She completed her vocational training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and a practice in Herne Hill. She has worked in north London since 2007 and joined Longrove in June 2015.
She has extra qualifications in women’s health, diabetes and teaching.
When her two children allow her to, she enjoys spending time gardening and visiting galleries.
GP Registrar - started August 2017
Our practice nurses are highly qualified registered general nurses holding Diplomas in Family Planning, Diabetes and Respiratory Disease.
They have been trained to manage minor illnesses and are able to prescribe some medicines.
We offer same day nurse practitioner appointments on Mondays to Fridays am and pm for the conditions listed below:

Claire Shea has been a practice manager at the surgery since July 2000. Claire has qualifications in management and economics.
She works 4 days a week for the practice but also enjoys being a practice manager mentor for other practices in the Barnet area.
Her hobbies outside work are family and 4 dogs and she also enjoys reading and entertaining.
Assistant Practice Manager
Our reception staff will be your first contact by phone or on arrival at the surgery. The team are highly trained and their aim is to make sure your visit or contact with the surgery is as helpful and friendly as possible.
They will try to find the most convenient appointment for you, record your arrival at the surgery and deal with your queries, problems or requests as efficiently as possible.
The secretarial team is responsible for a variety of tasks in a very busy environment, e.g. typing referral letters from the GP's to the hospitals, booking transport for patients and provides secretarial support for our practice nurses, counsellors and physiotherapist.
They also deal with a large range of queries and tasks from the doctors, staff and patients.

Based at Barnet General Hospital.
There are midwife led Antenatal Clinics every Monday afternoon and Thursday morning.
Midwives work with the doctors to provide care for mothers before and after delivery and care for the baby in the first fortnight of life. Please note that the first visit to confirm pregnancy should be with the doctor.

Patients confined to their homes who need nursing care, can arrange through the surgery for the district nurse to visit.
The district nursing team offers nursing care, advice and support with a wide variety of problems. Referrals can be made by your doctor or any member of the health care team. Patients and relatives can also make referrals.

Based at Vale Drive Clinic.
The health visitor is a registered nurse who has undertaken training to specialise in public health.
They focus on families with children 0-19 years to promote healthy lifestyles, detect illness at an early stage and support and advise families with identified health needs.
Through our PMS contract we still retain a number of counselling sessions available for our patients and host psychotherapy sessions.
The Surgery also have a team of patients who volunteer with Altogether Better to provide activities and events for patients to participate in.
